This is a watercolor of a building on the campus of Amherst College, Amherst, MA....I embellished the tone a bit...do not know the history, but my wife and I used to walk the campus when we lived there.

It has taken me a while, but I finally got-up the nerve to post my art that I have produced over the past 10 years. Am a culinarian by trade, but have found a passion for paint mediums and ink.
I am a fan of many artists and many styles. To name a few, I would say that the Wyeth family has touched my radar the most. Edward Hopper, Charles Sheeler, the Ashcan School, Charles Demuth, Caspar Friedrich, Gustav Klimt, Howard Pyle, and Lautrec....

When doing an image search for Charles Demuth's paintings, the thumbnail of your painting caught my eye. When I clicked and arrived here, the yellow you used knocked me out. It reminds me of a Van Gogh yellow/orange. Really stunning.
ReplyDeleteUpon closer inspection, I recognized the building because I have lived near Amherst, my relatively close neighbor to the south. for 43 years.
Your embelishment of the color gives it the feel that it is somewhere else, which is kind of fun.
